This office provides acquisition and property-related services for the South Atlantic Area, which includes 18 ARS locations located in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.   The staff provides advice and guidance regarding procurement and property processes and is the liaison on such matters with ARS Management.

 

Contracting:   (When the dollar threshold exceeds the locations’ delegation of authority, acquires services, supplies, and equipment up to $1,000,000, and architect-engineering services up to $100,000.

 

Real Property:   Responsible for all USDA, ARS federally owned and leased land and structures in the South Atlantic Area.   Responsible for/or directly involved in land acquisition and/or exchange, long and short term leases, land disposal, land use agreements, etc.   Handles tort claims and provides advice and assistance on security related issues.

 

Personal Property:   Monitors and coordinates personal property inventories, acquires vehicles and maintains the Area’s motor vehicle fleet and special purpose vehicles.
