Technical Abstract: Toxin complex A (TcA) produced by Photorhabdus luminescens W14 was found to be toxic to 1st instar silverleaf whitefly when incorporated into an artificial diet. The level of toxicity was comparable to that found for TcA against the Colorado potato beetle and the tobacco hornworm. In contrast to the d-endotoxins of Bacillus thuringiensis, TcA is broadly toxic to different orders of insects.
